Default Hedgehog Cancer/overall health

I recently got a hedgehog . I've had him for a week and will be taking Loki in for a vet visit soon. His previous owner didn't have a wheel or any other toys in his cage and his nails had never been clipped. Also he's one year old and has never visited a vet. It took me about three days of holding and putting up with biting (curious bites not aggressive) until he let me bathe him and clip his nails. I noticed that on his back there's an area where he has a bump. The skin and quills look healthy but I'm worried that it might be cancerous. He sleeps a good bit but he's a curious little dude and has no trouble walking, he's eating and pooping everywhere. Does anyone have any input on what else could it be. I would be so crushed if I had to make a decision on cancer after having my hedgehog for a week.

this isnt likely of any help at all

my moms dog had fatty deposits that stuck out like that. poor diet and little exercise.
i dont think there is any way to know what is going on without a vet visit though. i hope it is just fat for your new friend

It could be anything from an abcess to a tumour. Only a vet is going to be able to tell for sure.
