Default Itchy hedgie and bald spot

So my little man pickles has been a bit itchy lately. I only notice it at night when he's in his cage, like right now he's running on his wheel and just stopped to itch. This happens often and tonight whole snuggling I noticed a bald spot behind one of his ears. There's definitely more quills behind one was over the other. I'm going to take him to the vet soon but wanted to check out what others thought. It may be mites it may be dry skin or something I'm inaware of. I'm also concerned that his bedding is making him itchy. I use carefresh and always have. The breeder I got him from gave me it because she uses it. Pickles is about 6 months old. Oh I'll also add a picture if I can figure out how to

I don't think it's the bedding that is making pickles itch. If he was allergic/irritated by that bedding I think you would have noticed a while ago since he is already 6months. A vet visit will probably give you the best answer!

Haha I feel the same way!! The second I see something a little different I panic! My hedgie actually had mites when she was about 8 weeks old. She was itching a lot and also had those bald spots behind her ears. I was so scared! But the vet was great and the treatment process was quick! So it may be mites but you're hedgie will be just fine
