Default weight

I had bella for a month and she is very little.i began kepping a record of her weight. She weighes 286g. Is it mormal for a hedgehog to be so light?

She's on the small side but she could just be a small hedgie. Weight is important when monitoring for health symptoms but not always the greatest to tell skinny vs overweight vs healthy. The best way to do that is look at her body as long as her sides don't curve in )( like this she is probably at a healthy weight.

My hedgie Gabriel is only just a few grams over that and he is 8 months now. His body shape is fine, lean, but not concave, and I make sure he always has plenty of food available, kibble and wet food. As long as they are eating properly and not concave, like Des showed with the )( shape, you should be just fine.

Hedgehogs come in all sizes. It is impossible to tell if they are under weight or over weight by a weight alone. I have a 680 gram hedgehog and a 325 gram one at the moment. Both in good weight. I have had adults as small as 280 and be of good weight and adults that were 800 and in good weight.
