Default bunny's health:the saga continues...

everyone always asks how the "baby" in our family is doing so i figured it was time for an update.

since her surgery bunny at first seemed to be doing better but as time has gone on i think she's just on a slow decline. there is no more bleeding thank goodness, it was terrifying!...but she still had limited use of her back legs which caused her to fall. that worsened and now she has almost no use of her rear legs at times and limited use of her whole right side. she's been a trooper however and i continue to been greeted daily with snuggles and love. she still insists upon having her wheel, which has now been fitted with a crash pad of blankies all around it's base because i worry about her tumbling out during her frequent slow walks. she has also had her food dish lowered to a food plate so it's easier for her to eat the way she now likes to--on her side while peeking her head out from inside her snuggle sack she also loves getting rubbed down with shea butter (unscented) after her baths which helps with her dry skin. she can no longer ball up, but she's still eating and drinking and being a happy little pig so we have decided just to take everything in stride one day at a time.

i feel like her quality of life is still good, just different from our other girls, who are also doing great btw...lulabelle has gained some "winter weight" she has never really taken to her wheel so we continue to try and figure out ways of getting her to exercise...and peach is just her same aloof self. i'm just there to clean her filthy wheel and feed her as far as she is concerned. all of them are excited for santa--hurray!

I'm sorry Bunny is not doing great, but glad her quality of life is still good. She is lucky for having you.

I'm glad that she has someone who loves her so much. I think you're doing a great job. It's just endearing that she still wants her wheel. Thanks for the update!

Awww! Best wishes for Bunny. I'm sorry she's had such a rough go of it. It's so sad to hear about sick babies. My heart goes out to you both. She's so lucky to have you!

UPDATED..

bunny can no longer use her wheel and it has been removed from her house. she's having so much trouble moving around that i downsized her to a smaller sterlite so everything is easier for her to scootch towards. she's also mostly being feed baby food, steamed veggies and crushed kibble mixed together now because i feel like her recent weight loss was due to having trouble chewing.

she has taken to being fed, getting rubbed down, and then snuggled in a blankie til she falls asleep everynight.

thanks for all the well wishes!

Poor, sweet Bunny.
I'm so sorry to hear about her decline. All I can offer are good thoughts and well wishes. I'm sure that she appreciates all that you are doing for her. I only wish that I would have someone care as well for me when I get up in years.
