How old? He's probably going into a quilling phase, judging from your signature, say if he was 6 weeks old, that puts him around 8 now and I think that's around a quilling stage. Take a look at his back and you may see the new quills coming in.

If he's quilling there isn't much you can do, a soothing bath is about all. Purchase some natural oatmeal and draw him a bath, put the oatmeal in an old clean sock and throw it into the water and let it soak in. The oatmeal with help sooth his skin. Since he's also got dry skin, you can also pop a few flaxseed capsules into the bath which will help with that.

He might get grumpy if he's quilling, especially when being touched, as its a painful process. Some hogs get grumpy, others might not react much, just depends on the hog.

But yeah around 8 weeks give or take is when they have a quilling session, so if he hasn't since he's gotten home, 20 to 1 that is whats going on.
