Default Belly issues or boy time issues?

Hi everyone! I'm going to try to keep this as PG as possible.

Tonight while giving Herc his foot bath I noticed he had some dried yellow stuff that looked like mucous around his boy bits, with a little brown dot in the middle, and his fur was all matted with this stuff. I managed to clean most of it off, he doesn't seem to be damaged down there. Coincidentally or not, he let out a huge shriek this afternoon. Sounded like someone stepped on a cats tail. When I took him out of his pigloo he seemed as though he just woke up.

My question is this.....is the yellow stuff just a by product of "boy time", because that's what it looks like, just more yellow. Do you think the shriek was related? He is pretty cranky today, not like normal. The problem is, he doesn't like us going near his tummy, so I couldn't check it out as.closely as I would have liked.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Katie & Hercules

Yes and possibly.

Yes, the yellow stuff is from boy time. It does not clean off easily once dried so you were lucky to get it off and that he let you.

Possibly the shriek was related. Sometimes they get a bit over exuberant and bite themselves.

Oh goodness! What age do the "boy times" start? I wanted a little girl hog to avoid this kind of thing (Had male animals my whole life) but fell in love with my Shadow before we knew his gender. I'm nervous about him starting this phase
