Unhappy Lump on side?

Hi, this afternoon while giving my pog a bath and changing his liners, I noticed that he had a lump on his side, about an inch away from his penis. It doesn't feel very hard and it seems a little squishy. Not sure if it's an ingrown quill, but it is rather large.. about the side of a marble. I plan on taking him to the vet next week (nothing's open on Saturday!!! ) but I'm really worried
He's only about five years old. He seems to be in a chipper mood, diet's fine, eating and pooping and peeing like normal, playing in his wheel a ton.. He's not lethargic and movement seems normal.

Anyone have any advice, help, etc?? I'm worried

Welcome to the forum; I'm sorry it's under such stressful circumstances.

A vet is the best choice; there's not much strangers on the internet could tell you. At 5 years old, your little friend is getting into old age for a hedgehog, and cancer is a possibility. Hopefully it's something more benign!

Although it sounds like you've had several years of experience by now, if you've never seen it before, this is a really lovely guide on hedgehog care.
