Default Cutting Nails

OK! So today i am going to give my hedgehog a bath and i need to cut her nails they are getting long. But cutting nails just gets me nervous I have never had to do it with my sugar gliders they have running inserts and the dogs are done a petco. Also she has no problem with e touching her feet she will let me my problem is she likes to explore so i can get her feet but after about 5 sec she will start to climb up me lol. Also i cant really see the quick. Could someone give me tips and show me smoe pictures of what the back and front nails should look like?

Thanks,
Garrick

You should be able to see the quick if you look closely. It is where the nail changes colour. Unless she has black nails which she probably doesn't (can hedgehogs have black nails?). If you are worried just snip a sliver off the nail until you get comfortable doing it. And make sure to keep some flour or cornstarch close by just in case.

You should also search the forum for all the tips and ideas people have had before I think there is even a post with pictures of nails. Good luck!

One of the members posted an awesome collage of toe nail pictures a few months back, I'll try to find the link for you.

I found it, Lizardgirl was the one that posted the awesome picture and provided a link that showed an upclose diagram too. This is the link to the thread https://www.hedgehogcentral.com/forum...rimming#p31826

Good luck on the nail trimming
