Default First aid kit?

Hi everyone, I have just gotten my hedgehog, I was wondering if anyone could tell me everything I would need need in my first aid kit and what those things would be used for?

It's free to download and has everything you need to know. (specifically, first aid starts on page 110)

thank you these are both great, i have printed out that book, i love it, but none of these tell me what each item is used for, there is no point having them if i don't know ow to use them

Nancy's post discusses most of the items and why to include them. Most of the ones not discussed are usually pretty obvious (paper towels, nail clippers, tweezers, etc.). Which ones are you confused on?

Saline solution is for flushing things out - eyes and such, as far as I know. Vaseline would be for putting on sore spots, especially if it's an overweight hedgie or something where it has an irritated spot due to skin folds, etc. and they're chewing at it. That's the main application I've seen discussed for Vaseline, Nancy (or others) may see this & note if there are more uses than that.

Vaseline is also very good for dry ears, where the ears can appear gunky and tattered. It clears it up overnight.
