Default Fall

Madden my female hedgehog fell off of my bed when she rolled off of my pillow. I tried to catch her, but she hit the ground. She was in her ball, so I know her quills protected her a bit... and she seems fine, she was drinking and nibbling food and walking fine. I just want to make sure that nothing bad is going to happen to her. I feel awful she's not crying or anything, just sleeping now. Thoughts?

This is a scare all hedgehog owners seem to suffer Quinnlee and Clark dive pretty regularly.

She sounds like she'll be just fine, but here are things to watch for:
-does she walk normally? (you say yes)
-is there any bruising on her tummy?

But from what you've said, she's good to go

From what I can see, she has no bruising. She's only been with me for 3.5 days so it's kinda hard to tell though. And yes, she does walk normally. She opened up after a few seconds of me putting her down and started walking around again, no wobbling or limping. I'm going to check again in an hour or two to see if anything abnormal is happening. If so there is a hedgehog informed vet very close and I have a friend with a car. Thank you for replying

Watch her poop and urine for any signs of bleeding. Count her kibble to make certain she is eating and you'll be able to tell if her food intake goes down. Also watch for any signs of her being cool or a hibernation attempt or lethargy.

She is probably fine, but watch her closely for the next week.

I think this probably happens to every hedgehog at least once. Just because their legs are so short they can't take a big enough step to cross a gap or something and they take a spill, but they're really quite resilient. They're such silly little creatures and I always wonder how they adapted to survive in the wild.

And then there's Piglet, who seems to enjoy walking off ledges - Couches, beds, my hands, you name it and he'll try to run off

I hope your little one is doing ok
