Default Please help!! worried.

So I've recently come into ownership of three hedgies. (see post in general)

One of the males, Twitch, I noticed has a rather large wound just behind one of his front legs.
I tried to get some photos they aren't very good unfortunately. He is not used to me and it took about two hours just to get these.

Any suggestions would be helpful for treating this!!

I live in a town where we do not have a vet, much less a pocket vet.

Here are the photos;

/edit: I posted this in skin but I am posting it here as well because I really need an opinion.
He has pretty much slept since I got him, and not very interested in food.

Add on: I have only had this hedgehog for one day, I got him as a rescue because no one else would take him.
I have no previous knowledge of owning hedgehogs so bear with me.

The hedgehog is around three years old, I do not have a weight for him but will buy a scale tomorrow.
He has pooped twice since he got here. they are dark and solid and about 1 inch.

He has peed since he got here.
He seems very lethargic. Not moving around much and has slept most the time since I received him.

I have him in a guinea pig cage with a white fleece blanket so I can see whether he is peeing/pooping.

The temperature in my room is 25.5 degrees Celsius.

Well for some reason the photos aren't coming up. But best bet is to take him to the vet if his not moving much he might be in pain or have infection.

I would try giving him a bath and seeing if you can get a better look at the wound. You can try putting a small amount of plain polysporin on it to help it heal.

I'm deleting your other post about this, you only need to post once

Hopefully these work.
I have bathed and polysporin.
I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can do.
As I've said I live in a city with NO vets.

Poor dear. He looks like a real cutie, it's a shame he's hurt. I'm new to these forums, so I don't have a whole lot of advice to give you, but I hope he gets better. Have you tried contacting a doctor, and asking if they have any supplies you could use to patch him up? I'm not sure, but it seems like it would be worth a shot. I'm sorry I can't be much of a help.

I live in a community in the arctic circle. we don't have doctors, hospitals vet clinics, wal-marts, any of that stuff. The population is around 300.
Unfortunately vet/doctor visits are not a option.

I thought there might not be any doctors around, but I thought I'd suggest it, just in case.

Regardless, I hope he's okay. You seem to be dedicated to taking good care of him.

I'm very dedicated. I have worked with spca all my life.
Although I literally only just got these guys they have already captured my heart.
I'm probably just extra worried because of the lack of experience!!

Hopefully the poly will help I've also looked at using a different healing spray I'm flying into yk tomorrow the nearest good town and will talk to the vet there, though he is not a pocket vet hopefully he can help. I will also pick up supplies for a new cage. =]

It seems like hedgehogs have a habit of doing that, honestly. I fell in love with mine before I even saw her for the first time, just from what the seller told me. (Long story short, he had gotten her from a breeder and no longer wanted her).
Good luck with the vet!
