Default Quick Reply Needed! Emergency Trip to the Vet soon!

After returning from a short vacation last night, I found that Alaska is sneezing often and her breathing is very loud.
She has an appointment to see the vet in about in hour, but the vet mentioned sedation.
I've heard things both ways - YES or NO?

As long as she behaves, they shouldn't need it. They'll mainly need to listen to her breathing and then decide what antibiotics would be best to use on her. If they do decide to sedate her (I'm assuming they're just saying that because they're intimidated by working with a hedgehog) make sure they use isoflurane or sevoflurane, those are the two safest. If they do, don't worry too much, she should do just fine - just be a bit loopy afterward.

If there is a possibility of a respiratory problem, they usually try to avoid sedation. If she is resistant, you hold her and let the vet wiggle the stethoscope under her from behind. Good luck.
