Default Infection getting worse please help

Hi,

Over a month ago my hedgie, Martini, started getting dry skin bumps on her face. I took her to the vet to make sure of what it was and they said it was a fungal infection. They gave me Griseofulvin liquid to give her orally once a day. I have been giving her the correct dose of this medicine every day but she has only gotten worse. About 3 weeks after her first visit I brought her back. The vet said it can get worse before it gets better and said to keep up the medicine for a few more weeks and also prescribed a topical to apply to the infection. It has been two weeks since that last visit and she has still only gotten worse. I don't even think the vet did a skin sample or blood test. She is still eating and drinking normally but she is itching like crazy and I am extremely worried. I think it could be a misdiagnosis and she could possibly have mites. I am trying to find another exotic vet near me but if I can't I may have to take her back to the same one and ask for a skin scrape test. If anyone can help identify the problem or give advice please let me know, I will attach pictures of the infection. It is mainly on her face and has spread to the top of her head under her quills and she has begun to lose a few I believe.

Oh poor thing.
I dont believe it would be mites you don't generally see anything other than itching and serve quill loss. This isnt mites.
Could be bacterial instead of fungal (I'm not really sure)

I definitely think skin scrap to test it is needed to determine what it it regardless of if you go to a new vet or back to the same vet, it needs doing to be sure and get the right treatment.

Update: I took her to a new vet today who did a skin test and it turns out she has a severe case of mites. She even showed me the mites live under a microscope and I am now taking Martini to vet to receive a shot once a week for 4-6 weeks. I feel like a terrible hedgie mother for her having to suffer this long but the vet I first took her to kept insisting it was a fungal infection. Hopefully, she will be better soon!

Oh no, well I'm glad you know what's wrong, and that you can finally get a treatment! Which one is being using to treat it, revolution or invermectine? Only asking as theres been issues with hogs and invermectine. I have spelt that wrong but I hope you get what I mean! I have dyslexia thats a real horrible word for me to spell sorry!

Just dont want you having any more issues is all.
