Default Lump on hedgehogs back

I've just noticed a lump on my hedgehogs back. I have no clue what it could be. He's been eating, drinking, and active like normal. I dont know if age would have something to do with it but he will be 5 yrs in May. I couldn't find anything similar to what it might be. It would be so helpful if anyone on here might know. I wanted to get some answers before taking him to the vet.

It could be an ingrown quill, your vet should be able to sort that easy.

However at this age, and how prone hogs are to them, lumps can mean tumers, though it is very small. If its not an ingrown quill it could be this. They are the only two things I know that cause lumps.

I am not a professional and the best person to know is going to be your vet.

My hedgehog has a really similar lump and is also around 5 years old! He is acting normally and the vet gave us some antibiotics to try. If that doesn't work, then he will take a sample of the lump for testing. I would love to hear if you have any updates / anything your vet said?
