Default Swollen lump on Moka's back

Hi guys,

my little hedgie Moka has a swollen lump on her back. I went to the vet several weeks ago and he told me not to worry, that it was only a bruise and that it would have taken several weeks to go away. It still hasn't gone away and I'm worried. I'm going to bring her back to the vet. The lump is under her skin and it is not hard. She has a normal behaviour, she eats normally and is active like she has always been. What do you think it could be? Can a bruise take that much time to go away? Can it be cancer?

Thanks.

It might be an ingrown quill which would be easy enough for the vet to remove. I think the fact that it is not hard is a good sign as far as it not being cancer. Most tumors are immovable and hard...it could be a fatty tumor of some sort though. Is it red or inflamed?
I don't think it sounds like a bruise personally.

No, the skin is perfectly normal. There is no sign of blood or anything.

I'd have a fine needle biopsy done of the lump to find out what it is. It could be anything from a cyst to a tumour. It's best to find out and if necessary, have it removed.
