Default Hedgehog pulls a face when eating

Pickle is now 17 months old and I noticed last week that she appears to be pulling a face when she’s eating. The best way to describe it is when humans pull a face trying to swallow when they’ve got a sore throat etc.

She is still eating all her food, going to the toilet normally and hasn’t lost any weight etc I am just worried that she’s struggling. I’ve started adding a bit of water to soften her biscuits which seems a bit better and causes her to pull a face less.

She won’t let me check her teeth or throat either A’s initially I thought she might have something lodged.

I’ve looked online everywhere and can’t find anything to help. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

She may have a tooth issue or something else going on in her mouth. She needs to see a vet to find out what's going on. Hedgehogs hide pain well so the fact you can see she's in pain when she's eating means it must be very painful for her.
