Default Grumpy and Allergy?

I thought at it it was a new bath but he is itchy and hates being picked up - I am weaning him onto a new food could it be a food allergy? He has some dry skin on his legs ? He is also loosing some quills again :/ I wish this guy would stay healthy for just one week

Have you treated him for mites? If the dry skin on the legs is flaky, and especially if it's kind of thick(ish) and scaly and peeling, there's a good chance between that and the itching that it's mites. There are other possibilities, but if you haven't gotten him a dose of Revolution yet, you should start with that. If it doesn't solve the problem, it will rule it out.

The kitten and adult cat are the same concentration, the package for the adult cat is larger, which gives a larger dose. Kitten, cat, or puppy revolution are fine - all three of them have the same concentration. The dose for a hedgehog is approx. 1-2 drops per 400g. Revolution isn't dose-sensitive, so you don't have to be very exact with it - just don't dump the whole packet on your hedgehog, of course.

Balls at the end of the quills doesn't mean anything unless they're missing. If they're not there, it can be indicative of mites, but if they are there, it can still be mites regardless. Not all mites cause much quill loss, and if your hedgehog is still young, the quills you're seeing could be more related to quilling. It's the dry skin you mentioned on the legs that could indicate mites, especially if the dry skin is kind of thick and scaly/peeling.
