Default He ate an earring

I'm a first time hedgehog owner. I'm really worried about Wilbur. I've had him for two months and I got him from some girl that didn't want him anymore. I texted her a week or two ago asking how old he was, and she said she didn't know, maybe two and a half years old. Anyway, I have a condition so I'm hoping it was actually a hallucination, but I believe Wilbur ate a diamond stud earring. He was walking around on my cousin's floor with only me in the room, and I was stupid and was writing something and when I look up, there's something silver and shiny going into his mouth. I tried to get to him, but he got angry and hissed and curled up at me. It was still in his mouth the first time, but he managed to swallow it the second time I tried to look into his mouth. What do I do? I don't have money to go to the vet right now. I'm really worried and scared. Will he be okay? Please help.

Keep an on eye on his behaviour, poo/pee and his food and water intake. See if it stays normal or changes, if it changes you HAVE to get him to a vet.
Really you want to get him to a vet asap.

Maybe in future make sure there is nothing on the floor before letting him run around.

Take him to a vet. A foreign body can easily kill an animal and it’s your responsibility to handle that

He needs an xray as soon as possible to see if he did swallow it. Something as pointy as that will not pass and will puncture his insides and cause death. You really need to get him to a vet quickly before it causes damage that can not be fixed. May be try to borrow the money or check with the vet and see if they have a payment plan, some do that. Some areas have emergency vets that are open on weekends.
