Default Slow decline in weight

Hi guys,

So basic info, my hedgie is four years old this year. I rescued her last year, she was checked over by a vet before and after I got her and they both said she was healthy. She hadn't had any problems before either. She's in a viv with a heat lamp that sits around 25 (we found that she liked to be a slightly warmer as she would go to hibernate if it ever got too chilly) and she has a regular light cycle with a lamp. She has a wheel and runs regularly, her pee/poop is regular and normal.

When I got her she was 285g. She's pretty small for a hog (my friend had one that was so much bigger so I get that some hogs are just different sizes). We feed her cat food (I think it's chicken Go Cat that was given to us by her previous owner) and live mealworms/chicken every other day (we found if she got them all the time she would stop eating the kibble).

She's currently at 266 which she has slowly gone down since after Christmas. Nothing is looking weird per say and I'm making sure she's eating about a good tbsp of kibble per day. Sometimes she eats more, sometimes she eats less. Her activity is fine and she's still bright and sweet.

Does anyone have any advice?

thanks

A lot of hedgehogs have days they eat more than or less than other days.

Hedgehogs are amazing at hiding pain and illness and getting on with life for as long as possible. If her weight is slowly going down take her to the vet. She could have an illness and the weight is the only indication that you have right now.
