I am new at this! We just adopted an almost 3 year old hedgie about 3 weeks ago. When we got her, she had a really bad case of mites. We got medicine from the vet (advantage multi) but aside from that they weren’t much help at all.
We are working on nursing her back to health and helping her get used to her new home.
I think the mites are subsiding. But, with it being such a bad case, I’m not sure how long it will take (boo.)
I gave her a bath this evening and was checking her skin to make sure there wasn’t any scabs or anything... I noticed she still has lots of what look like gray/black freckles all over. They don’t move or anything.
Is this still dry skin, mite bites or just the way their skin looks?
Thanks in advance for the help.
