Default Can my blind hedgehog identify if it is day or night?

Please help. My new albino African pygmy is blind. I'm starting to worry if she knows if it's daytime or night-time. She seems asleep tonight and i wonder if she knows she's supposed to be awake

Our little one is not awake all night. She will wheel, eat, dig, and then sleep a while and get up and do it all over several times a night. I think blind animals can tell day from night. We have a blind sheep and he goes in the barn at dusk and goes to sleep and doesn't wake up and come out till morning. He is quite amazing, he memorizes his barn and pasture and will run around in it without hitting a fence or barn. He will tilt his head and listen to footsteps so he knows where people are to come get treats. Most people dont even know hes blind. Animals are very good at adapting to things. Hedgehogs have exellent senses of smell and hearing and I'm sure she will do great.

Thank you so much for responding! You're right, I guess I'm gonna have to trust my girl. I am so anxious about it

I had a blind rescue. The main things I noticed was she was a bit more active during the day but was still more active at night. Try to keep everything in her cage in the same spots and don't made any major changes to it as that seems to confuse them.
