Plasmacytoma tumor on 3yr old hedgehog

Hi everyone!

So I have little Winston who just turned three a month ago. Around Thanksgiving, I noticed a lump growing on his back head/neck area behind his ear. Brought him to the vet, we tried ABX with steroids topically for two weeks. Sent a biopsy when it didn't help and it came back +plasmacytoma. The vet said that this is normally treatable with surgery but feels his is too large and there would be too much tissue loss.

Does anyone have any experience with this/advice? Should I bring him in for a second opinion somewhere?

Greatly appreciated ahead of time, it's been a very sad few days!

Thank you!

I mean... It might be possible to graft a small portion of belly skin if there is really that much surface loss... Maybe a second opinion would be worth while? Or consulting with thw first doctor about options, how many surgeries of that nature they have done if any on hedgies and the results .-.
