Default Tramadol and behavior

My (almost) 4-year-old arthritic hedgehog was recently prescribed .04 ml of Tramadol every 12 hours. She's received 5 doses so far and her behavior has been a bit odd; I'm not sure if this is from her pain (or other arthritis complications) or perhaps from the medicine itself. The vet warned it can cause sedation and she does seem lethargic immediately after taking it but then seems restless and unable to sleep (I work from home a lot so I see her daytime activity). She has also been having an immense amount of trouble walking since starting the meds. Is it possible the pain medicine could be making her feel confused? Has anyone else experienced similar behavior with pain medicine?

I have taken tramadol myself and know that when I was on it I was dizzy, thirsty and slightly confused. I also found that I was very irritable.

Hope this helps,

The best way to find out if that is a side effect of the drug is to talk to your vet about it. If it is the meds then they may be able to try a different one.
