Talking My grumpy hedgie stopped running

My 1 yr old female had been losing quills here and there every other day about 2-3 quills, is this normal at the age of 1? Also, she used to be an avid runner and now she won't wheel anymore! she has a CSBW and seems to have lost interest and has gained weight as a result. I have made sure temp and lighting are consistant and her nails are trimmed. Tonight I tried rearranging things to see if that help. any suggestions? should i take her to the vet? she eats normally and her water intake is consistant as well. The only concern I have is when she huffs it sounds like a little sneeze, not all the time just once in awhile. She has always been a grumpy hedgehog and even after a yr she still hates to be pet and picked up. Did I just get a grumpy hedgie or is there cause for concern? In the past she has had a problem with ringworm but that has long since past.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The quill loss sounds normal, some hedgies just shed a couple a day or every other day. If temp and light are fine, have you noticed if there's more light in her room at night, by any chance? Some hedgehogs are bothered by even a little bit of light from a nightlight or a streetlight, and won't run because of it. You could try covering her cage with a blanket (keeping it away from any heating devices, of course) and see if that helps. If the grumpiness has been around for the whole time you've had her, it's probably just her personality. Some of them are just fussy!
