Default splatting?

Apollo doesn't seem to have a reason to splat. I have his cage at 80 Fahrenheit (im trying to cool it of a bit with a quiet fan) but hes just laying at the side of the cage, not in his hides like he usally does wheb he sleeps. I tried turning the light on, but obviously wasn't a fan. He isn't hurt, so could it just be hes comfy?

Is he breathing heavy? Splatting is normally legs stretched out behind and arms stretched out in front and laying on their bellies. He looks like he's laying on his side in the first picture. He might be too hot inside his hides so deciding to lay out. My boy likes to sleep on his side sometimes but just monitor and make sure he's still eating, drinking, pooping and peeing ok.

My boy during the summer would lay behind his wheel and above that part of his wired cage Id put a frozen ice pack.

Are you able to get him a ceramic tile to put inside the enclsoure? These are naturally cool to the touch. Otherwise ice packs work well but just depends on your enclosure and if you can put one above the cage. Don't put one inside as will be too cold. If not, freeze a bottle of water and position it next to the cage on the outside, where he likes to lay. You'll need to wrap it or an ice pack in a towel to absorb the water as it starts to defrost.

Mine does that when her cage gets above 78 or 79 degrees. He's probably just a little hot, but not to a dangerous level. I would suggest putting your heat source further away from the cage or maybe turning on a fan. If you use storage bins as cages, it's hard to keep the temperature right because they heat up really fast.
