Default Sore on head

Hi, my hedgehog is just over a year old and I just noticed this sore on her head today, anyone have an idea what it could be?

Hi, it could be a skin infection or an infected ingrown quill but the other quills also look a bit sore in the photo.

Either way, it is best to go get her checked by a vet and get her treatment asap.

If you are using any products or oils during bath time, I'd suggest only using water from now on as they could aggravate her skin further.

Let us know what the vets says, good luck!

The circular shape with the white centre makes m suspicious of ringworm. Either way a vet visit is in order anytime you find a sore or injury.

It was hard to get a good picture or look at it, I was told to put pilysporin on it and wait a couple days, but I just don’t want it to get worse

Who said Tom use polysporin? It's usually recommended to not use it on the face or near the eyes.

A friend that works with small animals at a rescue centre. I didn’t use it as I’m scared it’s too close to her face.

Update, today pickles sore is almost completely gone, the scab is gone and it’s just a little pink in the area. I’m thinking of cancelling her vet appointment. Thought??

Have you been doing anything to treat it or is it just going away on its own?
If the vet is not too far or too inconvenient, I would say to still go just in case since you still don't really know what it is. It might seem to be going away now, but could flare up again later.

No, I haven’t done anything to it. I noticed it on Tuesday and made the vet appointment right away yesterday. But it looks very good now. She is just very shy and hates the car. I’m worried she will get there and curl up and the vet will want to medicate her to relax her. I’m in the fence because I don’t want to traumatized her nor do I want it to get worse. I’ll most likely take her to be safe. I’ll post a picture of what it looks like now in a bit when she is up.
