Default Hedgehog Change in Behavior since Cagemate Died

About a week or two ago, one of my two hedgehogs passed away. Our hedgehog, Betty, seemed to have a change in her personality since her cage mate passed away. We understand that hedgehogs can experience sadness from the loss of their roommate, as our hedgehog that recently passed away acted the same way when her cage mate passed away a few years ago. But, we did not expect our current hedgehog to act this way since she is much more antisocial and seemed to be more distant from our deceased hedgehog. Our current hedgehog has not been as active, as well as not being as anger in terms of jumping when we hold her.

We were wondering what solutions there could be since I have read from a few sources that hedgehogs can die of a broken heart. We were hoping to not get another hedgehog, even though some places say that is the best solution. Are there any other animals that can be in the same cage with a hedgehog? Is there a certain way we should change our sociallizing with her to help her not be as sad?

Actually, hedgehogs should not be housed with another animal, not even with hedgehogs.

They are solitary animals and only get together to mate. Maybe give it few days she will probably forget soon. Maybe add some new entertainment to the cage.

She may not be as huffy as before because she's more relaxed now that she isn't with another hedgehog. She may be happier now.
