Default Possible Umbilical Hernia?

My hedgehog Quilly is a year and a half old now and just over a week ago while he was getting a bath I noticed this reddish lump above his boy spot. The next day I brought him to my vet to be checked out and with him being a grump and curling up she did the best she could to feel and give an exam without having to sedate him. She said if it didn't improve in a week to bring him back. I have an appointment for him in the afternoon to go back as it hasn't improved. I am curious if anyone knows what it is or if anyone has any experience with this? I am hoping and praying that it's nothing serious.. I'm horrified of the thought of him having surgery or anything because he of course is small and exotic and the risk would be high... please let me know what you can. I have attached 2 pictures of the lump I took during bath time. One with flash and one without. Thank you in advance.

My boy is the same age but I've never seen anything like this appear on him. Could he have nipped himself during boy time? But then you'd think it would have healed in over a week...

Definitely a good idea to get it more thoroughly checked. Please let us know how it goes and what the vet thinks it is. I hope it's nothing serious ♡

That was my original thought as well. That maybe he accidentally got some skin during boy time but it hasn't gotten better in a week so I don't think that could be it. It also hasn't gotten worse either though.
