Default Sudden death

I got my hedge hog Lilly the first of January (about a month ago) and she was 8 months old and the friendliest hedgehog loved to cuddle but she never really used the bathroom but didnt eat much either I thought it was strange but I was just learning her and trying to figure put her likes and dislikes.. This morning I woke up and she was sleeping in her waterdish, I instantly thought she was dead but she wasn't she was still breathing I tried warming her up with warm towels and such and she ended up passing away but I can't stop wondering what happened to her any ideas? Her cage is kept at 75 degrees and my previous hedgie lived for 6 years so I really thought I knew how to take care of her

I don't know much about kidney failure in hedgehogs but that's what it sounds like. I've had 2 hamsters with kidney failure and they were extremely lethargic and didn't eat or drink before they died. From what I've heard, it's pretty much the same with hedgehogs. Take my post with a grain of salt, I'm not a hedgie professional.

It's impossible to know for sure without having a necropsy done by the vet. If you want to have that done, you want to make sure her body is in the fridge until you can get her to the vet and take her in quickly so they can get the best results. I'm sorry you lost her so soon.

The bet called and said she had fatty liver disease and there was no feces in her intestine.. Is there anything I could of done to prevent her passing away from FLD? I feel like its my fault since shes been in my care for the past month but I had no idea she wasn't eating at all I just thought she didht eat much and she looked so happy I didnt think anything was wrong with her
