Default Quill Loss

Hello all,

My dear Millie has been loosing more and more quills within the past week or so. I hadn't realized it before then, it was a little here and there before, but it has gotten pretty bad (where I can't handle her without finding a quill or two on my lap afterwards). There are no sign of mites (she's not dry and her ears are not tattered). I am making a vet appointment tomorrow, however, I was just wondering what you would speculate is wrong with her. She uses fleece liners, eats Purina One, drinks readily, and is on the correct light and temperature at all times. There is no difference in her activity or behavior. I just really can't explain it. Is it possible she is quilling again? (I adopted her from somewhere else and should be over a year now, according to the previous owner). Any help is appreciated!

What did the vet say? I am going through a similar situation with Daisy and am debating taking her to the vet. She needs a physical anyway but I don't see any obvious signs of mites.
Let me know what you found out,
Susan H.
