Default dry skin, flaking off.

my hedgie nala has incredibly dry skin. She loses belly hairs along with it. this has been going on for almost 2/3 months, and there are NO bald spots. she loses the ocassional quills too. she is scratching somewhat but not anything alarming. The amount of skin flakes is crazy coming off. and none of them are moving- i?ve checked. It def couldn?t be mites as she?s never been exposed, AND she?s been treated with revolution even though she didn?t have them, just to be safe. she just has incredibly flaky skin. any ways to fix this???

The same thing happened with my hedgehog just not as bad and I could tell it wasn't mites. So I gave her a bath then put some jojoba oil on her skin, it worked wonders her skin looks really good. You can also use olive oil or flax seed oil. You also might want to put a humidifier near her. If her ears are dry put some coconut oil on them, it works great!

Hope your hedgie gets better!!

May also be worth a vet visit to get her checked for skin infections, especially fungal.

thank you!! im gonna try that oil. i recently gave her a coconut oil and olive oil bath which did help a little bit for about a week, so i know constant dry skin is the problem.
