Default HELP!! Something's wrong with my hedgie!!

Help!! Something's wrong with our hedgie Humphrey! A few weeks ago we noticed he was laying in his cage with his front and back legs straight like he was paralyzed. He stopped eatin and drinking and was getting so skinny so we started syringe feeding him foot and water...he's not getting better and every time I call the exotic vet they don't have any appointments I can make... we don't know what else to do... does anyone have any ideas?.

What's the temperature in his cage? Have you tried other vets? Even a non exotic vet would be better than nothing.

The twmperature is usually Around 80... we accidentally bought a heat bulb that was 10 watts less and the temp dropped to 70 at one point so we thought he may be trying to hibernate so we then bought a 75 watt bulb and warmed him up slowly... but it's been about 2-3 weeks flow and there has been no change.. the regular vets on my area won't see him...they just tell me to call the exotic vet.

This is an emergency and I would take him and just show up at the vets office and refuse to leave until they saw him. He needs to see a vet ASAP if you want to save him.

I would love to do that but with the fees they charge for emergency visits I don't have the money to take him. It would cost me well over $200.00, and with me just starting back to work after losing my job in february, I just don't have the funds
