Default Anointing or vomit?

I have a bin for Charlie that he plays in at night and I always give him food and water and tonight I gave him a little bit of quinoa with his kibble which he loves as a snack. About 5-10 minutes into his play session I heard a funny noise coming from him as he had a toilet paper roll stuck on his head (per usual) and sitting in the corner. It sounded like he was anointing and creating spit, which was amplified by the tube on his head. But when I took the tube off, I saw there was a lot of liquidy foam with a bit of chewed up quinoa in it. There was a lot of it and some of the spit dripped into the bin. I immediately threw away the quinoa and returned his bowl with new kibble, which he is still snacking on and drinking his water, and playing like normal. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it sounds more like he was anointing or vomiting?

By the way you described it it sounds like he was just anointing! If he hadnt had the tube on his face (lol) you probably would have seen him turn to his quills
