Default 4 months old still loosing quills, but no mites ?

caspa is 4 months old and a bit, but he is still loosing quills, ive taken a look and i cant find mites so i have no idea whats happening ?

Sometimes quilling can last a really long time and I'm guessing that the timing for quilling is not always exact. Also some hedgehogs loose about 4-5 quills a day for their entire lives. However mites can't always be seen on the hedgehog so it could still be mites even if you haven't seen any. If you can see the root of all the quils that fall out then that is the first indication that it is natural quill loss and not mites.
