Default Quill loss at one year old

We just got back from our honeymoon this week and we noticed that Joy had lost what seems to be a lot of quills. We were gone for 2 weeks and the lady who watched her, feed her, cleaned her wheel and gave her water. However she did not change her liner. She is a year old and her poops are normal, she is eating well and all seems well except the loss of quills and belly fur. She does not seem to have any bald patches. But we are finding 6 or 7 a day.

is it possible that she is doing a year's quilling?

Yes it's very possible she is going through a one year quilling. Some do. It may also be a stress related quilling from you being away but stress related quillings usually start two to four weeks after the stressful event.
