Default Wounds

I'm not sure how, but my hedgehog appears to have a wound under his left, front leg (armpit area?) Is antibiotic ointment safe to put on him for the night? I'm calling his vet first thing in the morning.

It depends on the ointment and if he tries to eat it or not. I would just keep it clean for the night and check with your vet.

I know this is an old post but would you mind telling me what your vet said? I just noticed the same thing on my hedgie tonight about the size of a dime. It's definitely bothering him because when I put polysporin on it he tried to bite me. He is normally extremely chill and friendly. He's about 1.5 years old.
