Default Lotions to use for dry skin?

My baby boy has some dry skin (I bathed him-in just water-too often before I knew how much it dried their skin).
What lotions have worked best for your hedgies? I have an African-Pigmy male at 25 weeks if that helps for suggestions.

Thanks!

Lotions?? I don't think that's a good idea, use aveeno oatmeal baby bath stuff or flaxseed oil on his food or skin.

I can't say enough good things about Humilac. It's not a lotion, but a topical spray. It's designed for dogs and cats but works great for hedgehogs. The first time we tried it was after a month of Archimedes' horrific dry skin during the winter (when the air is more dry) - he had huge flakes of the stuff coming off him all the time and no amount of flaxseed oil (the most commonly suggested hedgie remedy for dry skin) solved the problem. Switched to Humilac and after 3-4 days of spritzing him down daily the dry skin and flakes were completely gone. 5-10 sprays is enough to dampen the skin a little bit. I suggest doing that daily if the skin is really bad (until it goes away) or every few days if it's more mild. We spray it after baths now as a preventative measure. It has a slightly sweet smell when it's sprayed, but no smell or residue once it dries, and none of our hedgehogs so far have minded the smell. We use it for all of ours, wouldn't use anything else.

I use bag balm for dry skin. I have a toothbrush that I comb it through with but I haven't used it a while. Instead I use booster (like sunshine factor) in their food occassionally and that helps with dry skin.
