Default Medications & dosages for hedgehogs chart

This chart is focused on the most common used meds for hedgehogs' treatments, along with the active ingredient, the classification and the usual dose, accordingly, in order to explain what is being given to our hedgehogs by their vets. However, the doses shown do not consider each hedgehog's particular situation, age and weight.

Ivermectin is in this chart, although I've read it's not good for hedgehogs and have been told by my hedgehogs' vet that information is right.

I hope this information serves well and can be of help whenever your hedgehogs are on meds. Sorry if this chart was previously posted, as I didn't seem to find it.

It looks like this is a chart for wild European hedgehogs. They are much bigger and react differently to meds (they handle ivermectin better and are easier to sedate, for example). I would be careful with applying these meds and dosages in APH.

Medication dosages should be confirmed with a vet. Please don't medicate your hedgehog unless under the direct advice of your vet.

Again, I only posted this so people could have an idea of what function has the med that the vet has prescribed for your hedgehog. I would not, in any way, advice anyone to medicate their pets nor children without a doctor's prescription and consent, as you musn't tamper with anyone's health. And, I do know European hedgehogs aren't the same as African Pygmy hedgehogs, but I don't see why one shouldn't be educated about the treatments that one's hedgehog might be getting.

No, there's nothing wrong with being educated or you posting this here, but not everyone might recognize this as being meant for European hedgehogs, not APH, hence my warning. For medicine dosages in APH Smith's work is often used (although it's relatively old, but several things still apply).
