Default male peeing question

Hey Everyone,
I have a quick question.

I got another hedgie last Thursday. He has a noticable budgle for his "goods" area, where balls are located. Members replied on another thread that, that is okay in some males. He is thin, so I hope with good food it wont be as noticable.

Well, I was holding him and he peed on me. Is it normal for males to "have their full stick out" while they pee?
I have only been peed on by girls... so this is new for me. It was fully out and touching my hand as he peed. He peed three times in a row, (maybe not finishing the first time because I wigged out that his stick was touch my hand ) and did it each time. I just want to know if that is normal or cause for concern?

I have been without power in our area for three days, and our vet was only taking emergency issues. Now, that power has been restored (litterally just got power) I can make an appointment and get him seen this week or at the latest next.

He only weighed 198grams last Thursday, and I think he is young. He is small and I don't think he has begun quilling. He looks like a dark hedgie, but has white areas that indicate possible low phase pinto ...Will only be able to tell once he is older though .

He is really cute and is a cuddle bug..like Flower . I have not named him yet, but I am thinking of Cole for some reason..so something like that.

Thank you for the responces!

He is super cute! Congrats!

That happened to me once while giving my little guy a foot bath in the sink. I went to pick up his front end so I couk clip some nails, and he was "out" and peeing. I would think it is normal for them to have to do that to pee...

I know I responded to the FB posting, but I will respond here as well...so if any other member's needed the answer, it would be available.

Brillo will pee with his peep out when he is in the bath, every time. Haha, I'm not sure exactly why...maybe he likes the extra sensation? lol. As for the starting and stopping...that's normal too. I've watched Brillo pee a little...walk a short distance and then continue. Boys are weird. Totally normal behavior.

Thank you both for the reply!

At least I know that is one less thing I have to ask the vet about .

My boys rarely are "extended" (sorry, best kid-friendly word I can come up with right now) when they decide to pee. Actually haven't ever seen one pee while excited, I don't think, except for some small dribbles.
