Yesterday i adopted a new hedgehog. the hedgie has an odd nail on his back left foot. the nail doesnt appear to have a quick and doesnt have any curve to it. it doesnt seem to cause her any discomfort and isnt infected or anything like that. i tried to get a picture but it was not working out. anyone ever seen anything like that?

Is there any chance she ripped the nail out previously? Cooper had one that he ripped out and when it regrew, it grew back with no quick, and it was not shaped like a normal nail. It was rather round and pointy. I used to just keep it clipped back so that it was the same length as the rest of the nails. It never caused him any problems.

I tried to find a picture for you to compare to, but alas, I cannot find one that is clear enough. I never really thought to take pictures of the odd nail I guess. All that I do have are blurry or there is too much poop involved to really see what I'm trying to describe. Cooper had problems with his nails. That same foot had no nail on the little toe.

If a toe nail gets ripped out, will it definitely grow back? I've always wondered about that.
