Question Squiggy's Vet Visits

Took Squiggy to the vet today because he was having some issues I was getting worried about. First off was that he seemed a bit constipated, he hadnt been pooping up his wheel as much as usual and his C&C is surprisingly cleaner than usual as well. Gave him a little bit of unseasoned plain canned pumpkin and a bath to see if it would make him go, with very little success. His eating and drinking is the same, just not coming back out. So just to be safe I scheduled an appointment for this morning.

Squiggy's vet visit went very well. He weighed in at a whopping 360 grams, however not obese lol. At first, the vet though he might have diabetes considering his weight, cataract development, and his glucose intake from his kibble. But after a blood glucose test, it was confirmed negative. He's a little constipated, so the vet suggested just a few drops veggie oil for 3 days should clear it up. The vet also took a closer look at the bump on Squiggy's mouth, said it might be a tumor, but because it has actually been getting smaller since I've had him, he believes it might just be an abscess. A week of Baytril should take care of it, and hes going in for another checkup in 2 weeks. The vet and the vet tech said he was the nicest hedgie they've ever seen and that I've done an excellent job with his care. Oh! As a reward for being so good at the vets, he got some fresh mealies and got to try crickets for the first time! He went crazy for them, buuut hes not a very good hunter

Rest peacefully and sweet dreams little Thalia 8/25/2012 Mommy and Daddy miss you <3

Glad everything is well with Squiggy! Haha, I have tried countless times to put Brillo in the tub with live crickets for him to hunt...epic fail. Haha, so Squiggy isn't the only one with zero hunting skills!
