Weird behavior after Revolution treatment..Help?
My hedgie Prickles has a slight case of the mites, so we took her in to the vet today for a treatment with Revolution. It was her first time at the vet, so she was not very happy when they tried to do the skin scraping to see the mites. The vet only found one mite on her but treated her anyway. When he put it on her, she started foaming up real bad in the mouth like she was about to start annointing but she just sat there with a foamy mouth. I'm not sure if she might have licked up some of the medicine or what.
Then, while we were still at the vet, she started going nuts. It was like she was on drugs or something. She was running into her hedgie bag and back out, then into her litter box, then back to get water, but it was all super fast. I've never seen her act like that before - it was like something was chasing her. She has had this super energy ever since, and this is 4 hours after we got home from the vet. She is still in there running on her wheel like crazy and then zooming in circles around her box. I could just be paranoid, but normally she doesnt even touch her wheel unless we are not in the room and it has to be dark out. Is this a normal reaction after getting mite treatment? Do you think it could be related to the stress of the vet visit or maybe from the medicine?
She has also been scratching like crazy since we left the vet, so i'm also curious if the revolution treatment might make the mites start moving around a lot before it kills them or something. Thank you guys for all your help!

Re: Weird behavior after Revolution treatment..Help?
Revolution has a very strong smell, like alcohol. The smell can make them froth a bit if they get a smell of it. Her agitated behaviour is possibly from the smell and perhaps also the vet visit. I've had some that started scratching a lot after the application. Possibly it does make the mites start to move.
She should settle down soon, but keep an eye on her.
