Default Sudden Weight Gain ? Health problem or fat boy

Hi all. My baby will be six months old in about 3 weeks. I haven't weighed him as consistently as I should, but I'll post the log anyways. You can see there is quite a leap between the last two logs, and I'm concerned if this is normal since his diet hasn't changed. He eats mostly Blue Buffalo and admittedly he did have a BIT more mealworms than usual the past two weeks (he usually has about 3-5 a week, he may have had double this or a little more, was trying to get him to stop hating his foot bath so much). Otherwise he's active, running at night, hasn't really been acting differently at all.

Huh, that is quite a large leap. Do you weigh around the same time? Is there a chance that the other weights could be post-poop & that last weight pre-poop? You'd be surprised by how much difference it came make - up to 20-30 grams!

What fat percentage is his food? He's reaching hedgie adulthood & it's possible his metabolism is starting to slow down some, which could contribute to the gain as well. How does his body shape look? Does it feel & look like he has a layer of fat on him & like he's a bit chubby, or not really? He could've just gone through a late growth spurt.

I usually weigh towards end of the day but not always consistent, that last log was midday. I weighed him today midday and he was 525.

He looks generally like the teardrop shape, although his back does have a little slope and dip to it, but he's had that since he was a tiny baby. He feels like he may have a little later of chub, though only when feeling, not obvious when looking.

His food I didn't realize actually has 18% fat I must have misread somewhere along the line. That sounds like it could be the issue. I got him another Blues with 15% today and a Wellness with 9% to slowly switch him to. My goodness he just got fat so quick! Thank you very much for the reply and help!

Ahh, yup, that could definitely be the main culprit. Sounds like you have a good plan though, and you caught it sooner rather than later! I hope he takes to his new foods well!
