Default another problem :(

Alright, so since Bowser is on Baytril and I didnt want his stomach to hurt or his poop to be runny I got some Acidophilus probiotic yesterday. I bought a can of wet cat food and gave him a small amount of wet cat food with the probiotic sprinkled on top of it. I did that twice, both times it was 2 hours after the antibiotic. He seemed ok. Wheeled like crazy last night but I woke up this morning and the wheel is basically clean. There is only 2 peices of poop on it. They dont look like healthy poop either. But any hedgehog mom could see my concern when waking up and finding the wheel clean. What happened? Is the probiotic constipating him? Did i give him too much? I'm not giving him the probitoic today. I'm going to give him a warm foot bath in a bit and hope he poops in there. I HATE making him not feel well ugh. I feel awful. Any advice? What should I do?

Please reply I'm so nervous.*newhedgiemomsyndrome*

I'm sorry that I don't have any advice because I am still really inexperienced but I want to let you know that I know that feeling all to well and it sucks. Diggory was very constipated for a while and the wheel was clean a couple nights in a row and it was freaking me out. I gave him some pumpkin and had to give him a full bath to get him to poop. Ever since then he still doesn't poop as much as he used to and it still worries me every day. I figure he's fine because at least he is pooping a little each night and it looks healthy enough but I just don't know.

Canned pumpkin will help get them pooping but I had to syringe feed that to Diggory and it wasn't a pleasant experience. Hopefully someone who knows more about the probiotics will be able to answer your question.

hmm ok, thanks for the reply
God this feeling is THE WORST. I barely slept the past 2 days cause i'm so worried about him.

I hope he'll go in the bath when I foot bath him, he always does usually. I just dont know if its the baytril constipating him or the probiotic. =/

i dont see how porbiotics can cause constipation all they are is good bacteria i would blame the wet catfood before them
is it possible that he is eating less because hes not feeling well for one or has filled up some on cat food?
