Default Opals acting weird???!!!!

Her cage is at 76 degrees.
Her belly and feet feel cold though, and she was breathing a little weird. Kinda like little chirps. But now shes not...Idk..
And she didnt move around much when I put her on the floor but on me she just tried to go under the covers and go to sleep.
Her diet is the same.
Her wheel is less poopy then normal though, but she does have poop in her litter box.

Should I bring her to the vet??? -freaking about the cold belly thing-

I've had her out with me and I have a heat pad near by generating heat. I also turned up her cage to like 77/78.
She seems better she ate three beetles.
Was she trying to hibernate??
If so why? Dx Her lighting and temps have been the same since I got her.

Is the cage near a draft? A window? Maybe even though the temperature reading is the same, she just got hit by a draft. Maybe try putting the thermometer probe close to where she normally sleeps and see what it reads there?

Praying she's ok!

Not a chance of a draft. Dx Not near a window or anything.
She seems okay now. I'm def going to keep a VERY close eye on her.
And the probe is right where she sleeps. =o Now it says 78 cause I turned it up. Is that to warm?

78 is ok...it's at the warm end of their scale but if she seems better at that I'd leave it. I always have Hazel's cage at 76-78ish.

When I woke up this morning it was at 76 so I guess it will fluctuate between 76-78. Then I touched where she was sleeping and she hissed so yay. lol I love that noise atm. Maybe when I know she's back to normal I'll move it down to 75-77? I just don't want her to hibernate. Dx

She's kind of young, but perhaps she's just getting more sensitive to temperature? This happened to me with Lily, though Lily was at least over a year old before she started getting picky. I have to keep her cage between 78-81 degrees to keep her comfortable, with a heating pad under her sleeping spot. It can go down to 77 occasionally and she'll be fine, but she's attempted hibernation before at 76 degrees. If you do try moving the heat back down, I'd wait at least a week or so, to make sure she's out of the period where she'll hibernate again more easily. And I don't know if this really helps at all, but...I know Lily's had at least one, maybe two hibernation attempts where I couldn't find a single thing that would've made her do it. So maybe it was a fluke?

I'll defiantly wait the week at least. Should i give her the option for a heat pad also? I have a small animal one

I wouldn't think she would need one yet, she's so young...I've read that they're mainly needed for older hedgies, or if a hedgie is sick and could use the extra warmth in bed. But if she keeps having issues, or if you notice her waking up with a slightly cool belly or just not-warm belly, then it would probably help. That's the main reason I got one for Lily - I was getting her out every evening to find that while she wasn't cool and acted normal, her belly wasn't toasty warm. It's back to that now with her heating pad under her igloo.

If she's getting cold at 76, there is something wrong somewhere. Is she sleeping on the bottom of her cage (against the pan?) if so, you may try to insulate the bottom of the pan. Cage bottoms can be very cold. Another thought, does her cage sit on the floor? If so, again it could be the floor is cold (even though the air temp is fine). This is where the heating pad helps out as it heats from the bottom.

If it continues, I'd take her in to the vet for a check up. Behavior changes, and getting cold easily may be the first symptoms that something else is going on.
