Default Getting insurance?

The only place I can find that has insurance that covers hedgehogs here in the United States is Nationwide. Are there any other places I could check before calling them up for a quote?

No that I know off. It is about $9 a month, I haven't had to use it but some people
On here have and are glad they had it.

Yeah no matter what, I'm getting it, I'm just wondering what exactly it encompasses for each price level and all that. My main issue is his tooth, in case it ever does need to be removed. Can't afford that in one payment upfront XD

For hedgehogs they only have the $9 a month price and it's reimbursement. You have to come up with the money upfront.

Lillysmommy has care credit that is a credit card for medical and vererinarian expenses. She uses that for payment and then pays the card's balance with the reimbursement money.
One thing is you have to ask your vet is if they take the card.

Keep in mind that it takes 2 weeks after getting signed up before the insurance takes effect too.

I agree, definitely look into Care Credit. You can look on their website to see if your vet accepts them, or ask your vet. It works like a regular credit card for the most part, but for large amounts spent all at once (like surgeries, etc.), they have payment plans that they offer. I think the smallest amount to pay to get a payment plan is $250. No interest for X amount of time (depends on the amount owed & what you're offered for a plan) as long as you make the minimum payments. For amounts put on the card less than $250, you have to make monthly minimum payments, and also have interest on it. The interest is pretty high, so it's best to use the card for emergencies & large vet bills, but it can work for anything in a pinch.

If you're not already, it'd be a good idea to set aside money each paycheck, if you can, towards a vet fund. $200 minimum fund is usually recommended, I usually go for at least $500 as bills can add up quickly if you have a heath issue requiring meds, diagnostic tests, or repeat visits.
