Default We had our first green poop!

My poor boyfriend was the recipient of a neon green poo tonight.
It's probably from the change in food we're currently doing, right? Her stool counts came back today and everything was normal.

Hmm. When I weaned my Milly on to her new foods, her poo was green, but definitely not neon green. Hers was more of a forest green color, but a normal poo shape.

Was it the consistency of slime or was it a regular formed poo? I remember reading something here at HHC that said neon-green slimy poo could be the sign of some sort of infection or a inestinal issue.

What kind of stressful event has happened recently? Veterinary visit?

Here is my experience as to what is typically the primary reason for the different colors
Neon Green-Stress.
Moss Green-Antibiotic or food that didn't settle right.
Dark Green/Black like tar - intestinal bleeding.

Of course those are just one possibility of the color, but the main one I've seen to be the cause.

Neon green shouldn't last long, if it doesn't improve within 24 hrs or the stool changes, its time for a veterinary appointment.

She had a vet visit on Wednesday... they did a fecal test and they found no problems with it, which is why I think it's just stress related.

It's a little less neon green and more pea green. She was on Pretty Pets in the store, so we started switching her off to Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul Light and mixed it with her PP ans now she'll only eat the CSFTCLS. Could this be why?

Yeah, it's a pretty good chance that the food change caused the green poop, possibly along with the vet visit. Usually you do a slow change to avoid the green poops, but since it's Pretty Pets, it's not at all a surprise that she's only eating the Chicken Soup. Most hedgehogs immediately boycott the nasty PP when they're offered something that's halfway decent. The poop should clear up in another couple days as she gets used to the CS.
