Milly has had some health issues lately. She has lost 22g since July 24th which makes me nervous because she is only 4.5 months old. My vet said she is at a good weight (356g), but I disagree and wanted to ask you guys what ya'll think.
At the beginning of the video, I tried to zoom in on her "quill shell" (that's what my fiance calls it lol, because her quills are kind of like a turtle shell ![]() ![]() Around 1:15 in the video shows what is making me worry. It's like her front half looks normal, her middle looks really small, and her back end looks normal. Right after that part, she's all, "Pet me already!!" and nudges my hand haha. I apologize for the cruddy quality of the video. Bad lighting + low quality camera = bad video. ![]() http://s1094.photobucket.com/albums/i45 ... CF2590.mp4

She does look a tad thin in the sides. At her age, if she hadn't lost any weight I wouldn't be concerned as babies will take a growth spurt and grow in structure which can make them look a bit thin, and then they will fill out. Does she seem bigger/longer?

I'm sure you have said before, but what are you using for Milly's diet? You say she's lost some weight. She may just need a higher calorie kibble added to her diet to help keep her weight up.
Adding more mealworms and waxworms should help, but sometimes it doesn't work with all hedgehogs and you just have to add a higher fat/calorie kibble to do it.

Nancy, she does seem longer. It was around the end of June/beginning of July that I really noticed how much she was growing, and now it's kind of tapering off.
Kalandra, Milly is almost completely weaned off her Wellness Indoor Health (8% fat), and is on Blue Buffalo Basics Turkey & Potato (12% fat), Nat Balance Green pea & Duck (12% fat), and Purina One Beyond Salmon & Brown Rice (14% fat). I've tried wax worms with her and she refuses to eat them, lol. Should I try adding in another food with higher fat?
