So Shawn and I took HHC's advise and took Sheldon to the Burloak Animal Clinic. Dr Wolfgang wasn't in but Dr Lisa Mckinnon. Please admin post a recommendation for her as well. She was amazing! She loved Sheldon and did a skin scrape and a bacteria smear thingy on his flakey yellow skin. She checked his quills and skin for mites and read over all my notes from what I'd tried. Sheldon has a bacterial infection and has been put on Clindamycin .14cc twice a day for 14 days. Also got some Humilac spray to assist in soothing his skin. Also got some of that boost stuff the sunshine factor like stuff.
4heldons being put on a modified diet as hje weighs get this, a whopping 650grams ... Oh . My. God! Lol I knew he was fat but lord save us! Shawns ordering the CSWBW withing the next day or so. I was very happy with how she treated Sheldon and everyone there was amazing! Sheldon has a checkup in 2 weeks. Thank you Dr Lisa McKinnon! *also: just got him his first batch of crickets, wish us luck LOL*

His new diet is 3tsp kibble with tsp of a raw veggie mix and 1-2 crickets if he likes. Easing the veggies in slowly with 1 extra spoon kibble as we are cutting him back slowly.
*lso, couldn't be bribe with crickets or baby food dipped crickets. Shawn got the idea to let him loose in an empty bathtub with them and see if the hunting instinct kicks in. Also one got loose and I freaked out *eyeroll*

That's awesome news!
Don't give up on crickets some take awhile to warm up to insects. 600 + is quite a big boy but even in the pictures he doesn't seem honestly over weight by size he definitely has got the full ball formation down lol, well a bit on the sides won't hurt ![]() |
