Default something seems wrong .

Being new to the hedgehog world, only a year and a half with Mamma, less with boy..
I recently had a litter of 3 babies 2 weeks ago, and Mamma was out with lots of energy tonight, and i noticed her ears seem full of gunk.. and her skin looks a bit red !
it kinda worried me, but i was thinking that it could just be irratation due to wet bedding [shredded paper] cause she has been tipping her dish alot and the nest was damp when i finally changed it.

Just wondering if any one has any ideas how to relieve her, what/if i can clean her ears. and anything else that may help ! enough stress with the little ones, she don't need more with something wrong !!

Is she scratching? My thought would be mites. Is the shredded paper from a printer and did it have any kind of writing on it? If so, it could be an allergy to the printer ink.

Yes, recently she has been scratching quite a bit!
And its like shredded mail , papers, ect ! so the ink could be a reason, but shes never done this before, shes always had dry skin since i got her, the red irratated skin is very new. What do you need to treat mites ? and is is safe for the babies, or will they evenbother with the babies ?
I just hope its nothing to serious/ exspensive.
